1. Login Failures & “Authentication Loops”
Sometimes the app gets stuck looping between the login screen and your console’s authentication page (PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo).
How to fix it:
- Force Sign-Out: On the login screen, tap “Are you experiencing login issues?” This forces the app to sign you out and clears old session data.
- Clear Browser Cache: The app relies on your phone’s browser for login tokens. Clear cache and cookies in Safari (iOS) or Chrome (Android) if the loop continues.
- Switch Users / Re-link Accounts: Make sure your console account is correctly linked at theshow.com. If the link is broken, unlink and relink it to reset the connection.
2. Marketplace Not Loading or “Insufficient Players” Error
The Marketplace sometimes won’t show items, or you may see an “Insufficient Players” message.
How to fix it:
- Complete a Starter Moment: You must complete at least one Starter Moment or earn your first Starter Program card in the console game to unlock the Marketplace.
- Bypass the Error: Check your recently completed orders first. This can nudge the app past the loading glitch into the full Marketplace.
3. Notifications Not Appearing
You may miss notifications for completed trades, flash sales, or other alerts.
How to fix it:
- Enable In-App Notifications: Open the app, tap the “26” icon, go to Push Notification Settings, and turn on Market Transactions.
- Console Link: Some notifications only appear if the console game is running.
- System Permissions: Check your phone settings: Settings > Apps > MLB The Show > Notifications, and ensure they’re allowed.
4. Stuck on “Syncing” or App Crashing
The app may freeze on the splash screen or while syncing data.
How to fix it:
- Force Stop & Clear Cache: Go to Settings > Apps > MLB The Show, tap Force Stop, then Storage > Clear Cache.
- Reinstall the App: If problems persist, uninstall and reinstall. After reinstalling, complete at least one activity in the console game to resync your progress.
